Hello my name is Sedef ÖzkanI´m 19 years old and I did my internship in Turkey/Malatya.
Turkey is a very nice country, rich in natural views and in typical tradition things that reflect the people there and the way of living. I worked at a company which is called ATA industrial kitchen which sells and poduces large scale catrering establishments.
It was very exciting to see how they plan the kitchens for thei clients.
As I helped the assistents there in writing and receiving e-mails and telephone calls I have learned a lot about how to deal with clients. During the internship I gained a lot of new experiences and impressions and my self confidence has increased.
I liked it that I was allowed to do so many things by myself and I have seen that the working conditions in Turkey were different than in Germany.
Ciao!
Hi my name is Anabel Wennemer
and I did my internship with Café Extrablatt in Cape Town, South Africa. This restaurant has its
origin in Germany and so also my boss was from Germany. I stayed at the place of my boss and his
wife who is from Zimbabwe. That was a great experience because I could get a good insight into
African cultures, and I could improve my English because she doesn‘t speak German.
My basic job was to serve the customers: check on them and bring them their food and drinks.
During my work I met so many people from all over the world! I even met a bunch of Germans
there. They were quite surprised to meet a German in Cape Town! But I also had to deal with some
difficult customers, and I had to stay friendly and patient because: ‘‘The customer is always right!‘‘
However, it was a great work to improve my English skills and I met people from all over the
In my free time, I had the possibility to do so many great things and I visited actually everything
that is a ‘‘must-see‘‘ for a tourist. For example I visited the Cape of Good Hope, Table Mountain,
Kristenbosch National Botanical Garden, Robben Island, of course the V & A Waterfront and many
The internship was a totally new experience for me and it has been one of the best in my life so far.
I became more confident and I could improve my language skills. I was really sad when I left, but:
“Goodbyes are always hard!”
But I am sure that one day, I will come back to Cape Town because this city is one of the most
amazing ones I have ever visited!
Salut!
Montreal has 1.7 million inhabitants and is located next to the large Saint-Lawrence river.
I lived in a very modern student hall on the 26th floor. It is located in the heart of the town and the best about it: I didn’t have to pay for it. I started to work every day at 8:30 am. From there till 1 pm I worked in the school’s office. My tasks were to make photocopies, to do different placement tests and to organize several afternoon activities. After lunch the activities started. I was one of the two coordinators of the U 20 group. Every day we had a different activity to offer. For example: Laser Tag, several museums, old port area, different viewing points, formula 1 racing track, Olympic stadium and many more places.
Due to the fact, that some of my students lived in the same residence as me, I had to check on them every evening at 10 pm.
On the weekends various trips were offered to many different places. For example: Mont-Tremblant (ski resort) where we did a hiking tour, Ottawa and Québec City.
I didn’t have a lot of free time for myself but when I had a few hours or half a day off, I went out with some friends for a drink, went to festivals, watched the firework competition, did a speedboat tour, did some shopping in the underground city, visited the gay village and went to my favorite place the Mont-Royal viewing platform.
In the end of my internship we went to a very fancy restaurant downtown: “Les enfants terribles”. It’s located on the 47th floor and you have a breathtaking view all over the town.
All in all it was an amazing experience. I’m very thankful that everything worked out that well. I was welcomed with wide open arms by my boss, colleagues and people I met. Even though the work with the students wasn’t always a piece of cake, I enjoyed it very much.
Hopefully I may return to Montreal once again.
Hello! My name is Dianaand I did my internship at the physiotherapy centre Berg which is located in Kaltenkirchen, a small town near Hamburg. I worked five days a week. At 8am, the working day started for me. Then there was a lunch break from 1 – 3pm. And at 4.30pm my working day ended.
Since the practice is not really big, I helped pretty much everywhere. But often I was at the reception desk. There I was responsible for the schedule organization. From time to time I also had to take telephone calls and answer e-mails. If the patients agreed, I could watch the treatments and in advance prepare them. Of course, tasks such as cleaning the treatment rooms and washing the towels and sheets were also part of my job. But these were really not my main tasks, because you could divide them among your colleagues. All in all I can say that the internship was a great experience and a further step in my professional orientation. I can really well imagine to work in the health sector.
Hello, my name is Marcelina WrobelDue to personal reasons I did my internship in Germany with the company Bösch Handelsgesellschaft mbH in Schüttorf as an event manager.
I had to work four days a week. Most of the time I had to prepare decoration for new events, transfer money, take photos or videos for the social media, write news about new events and much more. In my internship I was able to learn a lot. The working atmosphere was very pleasant and the tasks were interesting and challenging, so that I could imagine to work as an event manager. I would recommend this internship to anyone.
